For all skill levels, and all genres but poetry. This class will help you improve your writing via Lill’s fun and supportive teaching method, “conversational group critique.” By answering and asking questions during the critique of your writing, you will learn: what is working, what can be improved, and techniques for raising your writing to the next level and beyond.
Lill’s “Socratic” teaching method has helped many aspiring writers win awards and get published. But there’s no pressure to publish if that is not your desire. The purpose of The Writers’ Ready Room is to help you convey what you want to say, so you can achieve your personal writing goals.
In addition, you will connect with local writers and Oregon’s supportive writing community, and find out about writers’ events, contests and publishing opportunities.
Class motto: “Every story has potential for greatness, and every great story can still be improved.”
Class meets every term, including summer. Except for 2020 due to risk of Covid 19.
